FAQ - Surgery - Proteins

Modified on Thu, 24 Mar, 2022 at 9:16 AM

The intake of nutrients is more difficult after surgery. Just after surgery the stomach still has to recover and liquid food is recommended for two weeks to allow the stomach to heal. Afterwards solid foods are slowly introduced in steps.

Because of the lower portions of food and fluids it is more difficult to get enough proteins in the diet.  There is a high chance of a partial decrease in muscle mass, which ofcourse is not the aim of the surgery.

It is important to supplement protein intake after surgery, it is recommended to take in about 60 to 80 grams of protein a day. If this is not reached with a normal diet it is possible to supplement this with our Pure Whey Protein.

This is available in three flavors: strawberry, vanilla, natural.

Strawberry and vanilla are nice to mix with dairy products and the natural flavor is also able to be used savory.
